Ms. Marvel to release in cinemas across Pakistan

Ms. Marvel, produced by Marvel Studios and Disney, is the superhero that Pakistanis are most excited to see this summer. The cast and crew of the series, which will star the MCU’s first Muslim superhero, is outstanding. Pakistan is highly represented in the series, with Sharmeen Obaid Chinoy serving as director for three episodes and Nimra Bucha and Samina Ahmed making appearances!

Fawad Khan is also rumored to be involved in the project, though Marvel has yet to confirm this. What fans didn’t expect was the Ms. Marvel team’s pre-release date surprise for Pakistani consumers.

Sharmeen Obaid Chinoy said that Ms. Marvel will be released in Pakistani theatres this Eid-ul-Fitr!

“A special announcement has been made by the Walt Disney Company and Marvel Studios. “Through its licensee HKC Entertainment, Marvel Studios’ new original series “Ms. Marvel” will be released exclusively in Pakistani cinemas,” stated co-director Chinoy. “Disney and Marvel will produce a cinematic version of the six-part series for Pakistan, which will be broken into three parts.”

While the OTT platform’s release date has been set for June 8, the cinematic version for Pakistan will premiere on June 16 with the first two episodes. The last four episodes will be released in local theaters on June 30 and July 14.

“This decision was made to commemorate the entrance of Kamala Khan (played by Iman Vellani), the first Pakistani Marvel superhero, to the MCU. In addition, both in front of and behind the camera, the series has a varied ensemble. Because Disney+ has not yet debuted in Pakistan, Disney and Marvel did not want Pakistani consumers to lose out on watching Ms. Marvel and her story,” Chinoy explained.
